HTC Thunderbolt review -- Engadget

HTC Thunderbolt review -- Engadget: "At a quick glance, without any background information, your eyes might tell you that the HTC Thunderbolt is little more than a Verizon remake of Sprint's EVO 4G and AT&T's Inspire 4G. After all -- like its contemporaries -- the Thunderbolt features a spacious 4.3-inch WVGA display, 8 megapixel camera, and dual-LED flash. In reality, though, the Thunderbolt is something more: from the Inspire, it borrows a better, crisper display with a wider viewing angle and a newer-generation (though still single-core) Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. From the EVO 4G, meanwhile, it borrows a cool integrated kickstand and the addition of a second '4G' radio, making this a spec Frankenstein of sorts -- the best of both worlds. Of course, instead of Sprint's WiMAX for that 4G radio, the Thunderbolt grants you access to Verizon's LTE network -- a network so fresh, it still has that new-network smell. There's a lot of horsepower here."

HTC Gratia review: Body double - GSMArena.com

Compact but capable, subdued but edgy, old but new. That’s the HTC Gratia. With Froyo greasing the cogs, the European version of the HTC Aria is more than a name change – this petite droid is getting ready to storm the Old Continent. The Android world is in a stage where big screens make the grade, which makes it frustratingly hard for people who like their droid in a small package. The compact Gratia comes with a 3.2” screen and is noticeably smaller than competing phones with the same display diagonal.

HTC CEO Confirms LTE Phone for Mid-2011 - Softpedia

Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is among those companies which would come to the market during the next year with a device capable of offering LTE (Long Term Evolution) connectivity. Since HTC already has on the market mobile phones that provide users with WiMAX capabilities, or with HSPA+ connectivity, it was only a matter of time before the company confirmed plans to release LTE-capable handsets as well. And confirmation on this has just arose, from none other than Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, who spent some time with Mobile World Live, as a recent post on Android Guys reads. According to him, we should expect for the said LTE mobile phone to arrive on shelves sometime in mid-2011. The interview with him is available here, though registration is required.

While this might be a little later than what enthusiasts were expecting for, the announcement puts the device's release window in line with what Verizon said previously in regard to the availability of the first LTE-capable smartphones on its network.

HTC 7 Mozart review: Eine kleine Nachtmusik - GSMArena.com

The HTC 7 Mozart is not the kind we are used to meeting - and no, before you ask, it’s not a music-centric gadget as the name suggests. Something quite different in fact, it’s all about the camera that goes beyond Microsoft’s demanding specs. Once again, HTC are trying to escape from Microsoft’s cookie-cutter approach and the Mozart promises to let Windows Phone 7 show it can do more. There’s much to be excited about here and there’s bad news for some of the top cameraphones around. The HTC 7 Mozart is the first WP7 phone to go 8MP and the first one to pack a Xenon flash. Seems like plenty of cameraphone buffs are hearing Christmas bells already. We’ll pretend we don’t for a while and put on our shooting socks instead. It’s time to see what the HTC Mozart is really made of.

HTC HD7 review: Dim the lights - GSMArena.com

There’s no such thing as a small WP 7 phone. However, 4.3 inches of screen estate are really something else. The best case scenario: the HTC HD7 is the phone you’ve been waiting for. The worst case scenario: it’s too big to fail.

The HTC HD7 was inevitable. Was it not the first Windows Phone 7 ever rumored? And rightly so. There’s no phone too big or too powerful for Windows Phone 7. In fact, if you ask Microsoft they’d say the bigger the better. HTC – on their part – didn’t have to think too hard. They simply skipped right to number seven.

Mobile phone display mega shootout: The full picture - GSMArena.com

There are so many of them that it’s pretty hard to make up your mind. It all boils down to LCD vs. LED although this simple fact is easy to overlook. You can go ahead and blame it all on marketing but that’s one thing that just can’t be black and white. Instead of keeping it simple, manufacturers are busy making up catchy names.

Had enough with LCD? Be our guest, try Super LCD. There’s even Super Clear LCD for the sake of being different. Same with AMOLED. There’s the garden variety. But there’s also Clear Black and Super AMOLED.

Anyway, with so many screens around even we got mixed up. And instead of writing down “We’ll never again mistake regular LCD for Super LCD” three thousand times, we got assigned to do this article. Yes sir. Coming up, boss. It’s about LCD and AMOLED, about Super AMOLED and SUPER LCD. It’s about the Retina display, which technically is a type of LCD.

HTC 7 Trophy review: Achievement unlocked - GSMArena.com

It truly is a catchy name, but the Trophy is – so to speak – the consolation prize in the HTC Windows Phone 7 lineup. It’s not the big guy in the family nor is it the smartest. The Trophy is a middle-of-the-roader, the mass market choice. It’s the first HTC-made Windows Phone 7 device we’re reviewing and we guess it’s up to them to prove there’s no such thing as an ex PocketPC maker. Windows Phone 7 is about sky-high hardware standards and Microsoft is not really encouraging out-of-the-box thinking. What does this mean for the HTC 7 Trophy? Well, believe it or not, this here Trophy has come onto the scene to bring the one thing that Windows Phone 7 is obviously short of – device personality.
